\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNSW’s 2030 emissions commitment will make state an investment magnet New South Wales has sent a clear message to the private sector that it’s open for business in the global decarbonising economy, according to the Electric Vehicle Council.\n\nPremier Gladys Berejiklian has announced NSW will slash emissions by 50 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030, under updated projections released as part of the Net Zero: Stage 1 Implementation Update.\n\nEVC chief executive Behyad Jafari said NSW was setting an outstanding example for the nation.\n\n“New South Wales became home to the best electric vehicle policy in Australia this year, which is helping companies bring more affordable and exciting vehicles to the state, construct more charging stations, and support manufacturing jobs by building vehicles\nlike buses locally,” Mr Jafari said.\n\n“Today’s new commitment demonstrates the EV policy sits within a broader vision and that will only amplify the benefits.\n\n“Today’s clear commitment provides an unmissable signal to the industries of the future that will inform their investment decisions. New South Wales is a friendly place to invest.\n\n“Increasing the ambition of your goals shows you\u2019re proactive in chasing opportunities for investment, jobs, and products in the transition to zero emissions. That makes New South Wales an attractive place to do business for our members in the EV sector.\n\n“New South Wales has set a great example for the federal government to follow.
