{"id":18872,"date":"2025-02-16T06:24:37","date_gmt":"2025-02-15T19:24:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/electricvehiclecouncil.com.au\/?p=18872"},"modified":"2025-02-25T06:25:53","modified_gmt":"2025-02-24T19:25:53","slug":"evc-backs-nsw-governments-investment-in-ev-friendly-road-trips","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/electricvehiclecouncil.com.au\/media-releases\/evc-backs-nsw-governments-investment-in-ev-friendly-road-trips\/","title":{"rendered":"EVC backs NSW government&#8217;s investment in EV-friendly road trips"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The NSW government\u2019s investment in EV charging stations on nine iconic road trips will make it easier for Australians to explore the state in an EV while supporting sustainable tourism, according to the Electric Vehicle Council.<\/p>\n<p>The EV-friendly routes take drivers through some of NSW\u2019s top tourist destinations, including the Central Coast to the Hunter Valley, the Southern Highlands to the South Coast, and Sydney to the Blue Mountains.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EVC Chief Executive Julie Delvecchio<\/strong>\u00a0said charging stations are strategically placed every 100km or less.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is exactly the kind of forward-thinking approach we need to accelerate EV adoption across Australia,\u201d Ms Delvecchio said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRange anxiety has been a barrier to EV uptake, and by making it easier for drivers to see where they can travel and charge, this initiative directly addresses that concern. While many new EVs can travel 400km on a single charge, initiatives like these tackle concerns about range anxiety head on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ms Delvecchio said EV-friendly routes bring economic opportunities to regional economies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnlike traditional highways that can divert traffic, this initiative brings people into regional communities \u2014 encouraging stops at cafes, shops, and attractions, making regional travel even more appealing.
